Reading at home - Children are asked to read at least 3 times a week at home. Diaries are checked on Friday and if they have read 3 times in the week to grown ups at home they get a stamp for their stamp card. When 10 stamps are received the children are rewarded with an invitation to Mrs O'KP's tea party.
Recognise 2D and 3D shapes.
Form numbers correctly.
Count forwards and backwards 1 to 100.
Children are given Floppy Phonics worksheets with sounds they are learning and encouraged to work with grown ups to practice the sounds given.
By the end of Year 1 all children are expected to read and write all common exception words.
Homework is sent home on Friday. All completed items to be returned to school by Wednesday.
P.E Kit and Information
P.E takes place on Monday and children work on a rota of one class in two classes out.
We have also been given the opportunity to learn dance over 6 weeks before performing to parents.
Normal kit is required with shorts in the summer and longer jogging bottoms in the winter.
Children visit the library once a week to change books.
