Ofsted and Performance Data

Ofsted School Inspection Report

St. Peter's school was last inspected in November 2024, when it was considered that the school had taken effective action to maintain the standards identified in the previous inspection.  The previous inspection, in 2019, had judged the school as good in all areas.

Some of the comments from the inspection report:

  • Pupils enjoy warm relationships with the staff at this caring school and can readily articulate the school values.
  • A carefully chosen curriculum enables pupils to achieve well, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
  • Pupils benefit from digital technology to enhance their learning at home and at school.
  • Early reading is a priority.  pupils develop a love of reading from an early age and also build fluency through a well-organised approach to teaching phonics.
  • Staff check on pupils' understanding during and after lessons, and this is particularly effective within English and mathematics lessons.
  • There are high expectations for pupils' behaviour and attitudes.  Pupils want to do their best.
  • The school is proud of the wealth of wider extra-curricular opportunities it offers to pupils.
  • Leaders at all levels are highly ambitious and relentless in their drive to improve their school.

Ofsted Parent View

Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think about the school, from the quality of teaching to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour.  The survey can be completed at any time, you don't have to wait until the school is being inspected.

Ofsted will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect and when.

Parent/Carer Surveys

The school values the views of parent/carers and gathers these via online surveys.  Below are the results of the most recent surveys sent out to the parent/carers of the current Year 1 to Year 4 pupils, and also a separate survey that was sent out to the EYFS parent/carers.
